Over 40 years experience in Shotokan Karate, including over 30 years as an instructor.
Began training in JKA at the age of 7.
Switched to SKIF in 1986.
Graded to Rokudan (6th Dan) under Kanazawa Kancho and Murakami Shihan in 2019.
Member of SKIF Yudansha-kai (international Black Belt association).
Highlights
Refereed the Finals at the SKIF World Championships in 2012 (Sydney), 2016 (Jakarta), and 2019 (Hradec Kralove).
Trained in Japan in 2004, 2006, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2025.
Trained in Okinawa in 2015.
Attended SKIF International Seminars in 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2025.
Attended Shotokan Week in 2001, and every year since 2004.
Member of SKIA National Executive from 2007 to 2024.
Chairman of SKIA Referee's Council from 2013 to 2026.
National President of SKIA from 2026.
Instructed at the ACT Shotokan Karate Dojo from 1996 to 2020.
Established the Batemans Bay Karate Dojo in 2021.
